Amean J President

Amean is a Founding Member of The Citizens Archive of Pakistan. He graduated with a BFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco [1997] and later received his MA in Media, Culture & Technology from the University of Bedfordshire [2005]. He has been photographing, exhibiting and curating exhibits based out of his studio 18% Grey in Karachi.

Ahsan Najmi Vice President

A graduate of Rhode Island school of design in Architecture, Ahsan is currently serving as the C.E.O / Principal Architect of Najmi Bilgrami Collaborative (Pvt) Ltd. In addition he is a director at YOCA. He has been included in the list of emerging architects of Asia by ARCASIA and cited as amongst the 50 most influential names in design within Asia by Architectural Record India. He is currently serving as the Vice President of CAP.

Sabeen Jatoi General Secretary

Sabeen Jatoi read law at the University of Essex and was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 2003. She started her career in the development sector working for projects funded by various UN agencies, other global donors and implementing organizations. She did a stint as a journalist with the Pakistan Herald Publications Limited before working as a Legal Associate at MohsinTayebaly & Company, a law firm specialising in advising financial institutions, companies, the state and regulatory bodies on legal issues. Headhunted by the oil giant BP, she then started a career in the oil and gas Exploration & Production sector and has been with the same asset since. BP divested its Pakistan portfolio to a Chinese principal and now operates as United Energy Pakistan. Sabeen currently manages their Communications and Land Management Services.

Salim Karim Treasurer

Salim graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s in Economics. He is currently working for a Fortune 500 oil company, eni Pakistan Ltd. He heads a team of contract engineers responsible for ancillary services to upstream operations.

Altaf Qureshi Board Member

Altaf is a founding member of CAP, a practicing English law barrister, solicitor and Pakistani law advocate. Altaf worked in London with a US law firm, at Hardwicke Building (Lincoln’s Inn), with Linklaters (one of the world’s largest law firms) and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He worked in the UAE with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank as the Deputy General Counsel. Currently he is a partner at Ijaz Ahmed & Associates specialising in finance, companies, securities and investments for international clients. He is the co-founder of Wukla.com, a visiting lecturer at IBA and a masters graduate of Columbia University.

Jahanzeb Awan Board Member

Jahanzeb is a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn and a partner at Khalid Anwer & Co; a leading law firm of Pakistan. Jahanzeb appears regularly before the Sindh, Islamabad and the Lahore High Court in civil, commercial and constitutional matters. Jahanzeb is a part of the distinguished faculty of the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance for the Corporate Governance Leadership Skills and the Institute of Directors (UK). Jahanzeb is also a part of the task force to review the Code of Corporate Governance for public listed and public sector companies. Jahanzeb was earlier selected as a Master Trainer for the Advocacy Program held by the Karachi Bar Council and for the training of police officers and members of the subordinate judiciary as well. Jahanzeb has attended the University of Sheffield, Inns of Court School of law, Institute of Business Administration, International Visitor Leadership Program (US State Department), Academy of International Business Officials (Ministry of Commerce, Government of China) and the National Defence University (Islamabad).

Saqib Zia Board Member

Saqib is the Marketing Director & Commercial Operations leader Pakistan for Procter & Gamble. Saqib is a high impact and commercially driven business leader with diverse marketing and sales experience across different geographies from developing to highly developed countries/clusters. Saqib has had the unique opportunity to work and succeed with leading FMCG and Oil & Gas companies, with achievements that have been recognized at both local and global levels. He has led cross-functional and cross-cultural teams through transformational team dynamics, increasing team morale and passion to deliver extraordinary results.

Sara Koraishy Board Member

Sara is General Manager at J Walter Thompson Karachi. Born and raised in Karachi, Sara has over a decade of experience across a wide range of disciplines within advertising, branding and visual communication. She began her career at J. Walter Thompson Karachi as a Strategy Planner but moved into the world of account management with Saatchi & Saatchi. She has held both regional and global positions with JWT Bangkok and JWT London respectively. She then made her way to the Middle East with LOWE MENA, to handle the UL business for the region. Driven to explore new age media, she is ever curious about all things innovation and interactive.

Ziad Bashir Board Member

Ziad is a graduate from Babson College, USA, with a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial Studies.He also serves on the board of Gul Ahmed and is associated with the Information Technology (IT) industry and has played a key role in the transformation of the Company’s IT infrastructure. He is a certified director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).Over the years he has served as Chairman of the Landhi Association of Trade and Industry and on the Board of Central Managing Committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). He has also served as a President of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Pakistan.

Sohaib Alvi Executive Director

Sohaib Alvi joined CAP as Executive Director in January 2017.  Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Sohaib was heading development strategy in the areas of Marketing, Resource Mobilization and HR at the Hunar Foundation. In his 31 years of experience in the corporate, consulting and development sectors, he has delivered results in industries comprising FMCG, Insurance, Financial, Travel, Retailing, Advertising, Research, Clothing, Business Outsourcing, Media, IT and Not-For-Profit. Sohaib has previously been a C-Suite Executive, Business Strategy & Marketing Consultant and Corporate Trainer. He has worked with top executives and creative artists in his assignments around the world. Sohaib holds an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Patron-in-Chief

Sharmeen is a two-time Academy and Emmy Award winning filmmaker who has worked in over 13 countries around the world. In 2012, Time Magazine included Sharmeen in their annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the world. That same year, the Pakistani Government awarded her the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, a state honour for her services to the arts and culture. She is a Founding Member of The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) and has served the organization, as it’s first President from 2007 to 2016. In appreciation of her services, commitment and contributions to CAP the Governing Board has appointed Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy as the Patron-in-Chief for life.
