This is my story: Dialogue with Pakistan

This is my story: Dialogue with Pakistan is a public exhibition, social media campaign, and awareness campaign that explores the human experience of Pakistani conflict.

Through this project, a public discourse will ensue that draws linkages between the past and present impact of violence and displacement and derives approaches to resolve conflict in society. Furthermore, themes such as early warning analysis, national capacity-building in conflict management, dispute resolution skills development and integration of conflict management into development work can be brought to the forefront and will be studied in the context of Pakistan.

This project will be a step towards means of healing and reconciliation, and will inspire hope and strength.

A series of seminars and workshops will culminate into a multi-media exhibition, and an awareness and social media campaign about how violence has affected the emotional and cognitive process of individuals and communities across the country.

The exhibit that will be held in September in Karachi and Lahore will showcase installation video diaries, exhibits, oral histories, photographs and installations that explore memories and legacies of the past and present conflict in Pakistan.

From June 13th to 16th, the Citizens Archive of Pakistan launched a city-wide anti-violence awareness campaign in the streets of Karachi and Lahore.

This awareness campaign involved engaging the masses in a dialogue about the impact of violence on individuals, families and communities in Pakistan.

Along side an interactive website has been launched documenting the campaign and detailing how one can help. A phone number can be called (03323469514) to record ones thoughts on how to improve the situation.

In addition, the projects official radio-media partners, CityFM89 and FM1OO are running radio awareness campaigns for the duration of this project.
